Specializes in: Treatment of Children and Adolescents with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Behavioral Difficulties.
Robert Kalas, LSW
Bob has spent over 40 years helping families turn challenging and defiant behavior into cooperation and peace. Holding a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s in Public Health, he combines clinical skill with a practical, straightforward approach.
He previously served as Coordinator of the Child Outpatient Division at UPMC Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic and helped found Pennsylvania’s first Mobile Crisis Clinic for children. While running a major NIMH-funded research study, he always maintained an active caseload.
Bob specializes in treating children and adolescents with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and other behavioral difficulties. His methods are rooted in clear rules, consistent consequences, and strong parent training. At the same time, he is known for his warm, relatable style — quickly building trust with both children and their parents.
Even after retiring from the hospital system, Bob continues to work in private practice, bringing the same dedication and results-oriented approach that families have relied on for decades.
